biography of Kingo 'T'

 

Background

Robert Baugh aka Kingo ‘T’ was born in the parish of Portland, Jamaica. He grew up in the district of Windsor Rio Grande in Portland. He began to perform on stage at the age of 9 years old in a community talent show where he initially made his mark as a reggae dancehall artist. It was in this moment that he decided to start a career in music.

 

As a Young Adult

As a young adult, Kingo ‘T’ began to perform in various community concerts and stage shows. In 2005, he entered the Digicel Rising Star Competition where he made the Portland top 10. In this competition, he advanced to the semi-finals in Kingston where it was broadcasted live on television. During the semi-finals, he performed several songs. In 2008, he entered the JCDC Community Talent Competition which he won the first place trophy. Soon after, he recorded his first single called ‘Demonstration’ with Javrag Productions.

 

Current Music Career

In 2014, Kingo ‘T’ migrated to the United States to join his Canadian-born wife Kimberly where they lived for two years. In 2016, they both moved to Toronto, Canada, where he continues to pursue his music career. In 2017, he released his first 9-track CD entitled “From Nothing to Something” which includes his first recording single ‘demonstration’. In addition, he created his first music video in Toronto entitled “Nothing to Something”. In 2018, Kingo ‘T’ came in second place in Coast 2 Coast Live in Toronto which is a music artist competition that takes place in various states in the United States including Toronto, Ontario, as one of their locations. He continues to voice his own original songs, and make attempts to obtain opportunities to showcase his talent. Moreover, he is a member of the Songwriters Association of Canada (S.A.C.) which is a platform where songwriters receive support in their musical path and a medium in which my unique original songwriting materials are protected. Overall, it is his goal to reach Toronto and beyond with outstanding music that people of all walks of life can connect to.
